Dear Friends,
As we begin a new year, I want to share some encouragement from Paul’s letter to the Philippians:
“Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3: 13-14)
Paul reminds us not to let the past hold us back – whether it’s failures, mistakes, or hurts. Instead, he encourages us to focus on the finish line. In the same way, God calls us to let go of what’s behind and keep pressing forward.
Maybe last year didn’t go as you hoped. You might feel like you fell short or carried burdens that were hard to bear. But God’s mercies are new every morning. His love gives us the chance to start fresh and take the next step forward.
As we move into this new season, let’s remember that the most important thing is to stay faithful to the Lord until we cross the finish line. Life’s race isn’t about being the fastest or strongest but about remaining faithful to God through every step of the journey. Whether the path feels smooth or challenging, keep your eyes on Him and trust His guidance.
I’m excited to see what God has in store for each of us and for our church this year. Together, let’s press on, grow in faith, and live out His purpose.
Blessings,
Pastor Hannah
